Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sewing Factory Director located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Sewing Factory Director will be responsible for overseeing daily operations in the factory, including production planning, production management, and quality management. The role will also involve leading and managing teams, ensuring adherence to manufacturing standards, and optimizing production processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.


 Location: Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City & Vinh Long
Report to: CEO (Korean)
Department: Garment Manufacturing Division
1. Job Purpose

The Sewing Factory Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the sewing plant(s), ensuring production targets are met in terms of quality, cost, delivery, safety, and compliance, while driving automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence aligned with Thanh Cong Textile & Garment’s strategic goals.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Operations Management

Lead and manage daily operations of the sewing factory, covering multiple production lines and shifts.
Develop and execute production plans to meet customer delivery schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Monitor KPIs such as Output, Efficiency, OTIF (On Time In Full), Quality Defects, Rework Rate, and Productivity.
Ensure smooth coordination between Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, and Packing processes.
B. Quality & Compliance

Enforce quality control procedures to meet buyer requirements (US/EU markets, fast fashion standards).
Maintain compliance with social, environmental, and safety standards (WRAP, BSCI, ISO, EHS, C-TPAT, etc.).
Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
C. People Leadership & Development

Lead, coach, and develop factory management teams including Production Managers, IE Managers, QA/QC Managers, and HR/Admin.
Build a culture of discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Drive manpower planning, skills training, and succession planning.
D. Cost, Efficiency & Automation

Manage factory budget, control operational costs, and optimize resource utilization.
Lead productivity improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, SMV reduction).
Drive factory automation and semi-automation projects to improve efficiency, reduce dependency on manual labor, and enhance quality consistency (e.g., auto-cutting, sewing automation, material handling systems, RFID tracking).
Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to evaluate, propose, and implement new automation technologies.
Reduce waste, overtime, and idle time.
E. Strategic Projects

Collaborate with R&D, Planning, and Merchandising to meet new product development timelines.
Support digital transformation projects in production monitoring and reporting.
Drive process innovation in alignment with corporate strategy.
3. Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Garment Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Automation Engineering, or related fields.
Experience:

Minimum 12–15 years in garment manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior factory management role (preferably in export-oriented knit garment factories) control over 80 sewing lines, ~ 3000 employees.
Proven track record in planning, implementing, and managing factory automation projects in sewing or garment manufacturing.
Skills & Knowledge:

Strong understanding of garment manufacturing processes and IE methods.
Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, SMED, and automation technologies (e.g., automated sewing machines, conveyor systems, fabric spreaders, auto-packaging).
Knowledge of compliance requirements for major brands (Nike, Adidas, GAP, Inditex, etc.).
Strong leadership, decision-making, and people management skills.
Project management skills for capital investment and automation rollout.
Fluent in English (speaking & writing) & strong communication with stakeholders
Computer literate (ERP/MES systems, MS Office, automation monitoring tools).
